Gem

Gems are items that can be found down in the Cavern or obtained by opening geodes. Gems are rare and valuable and can be donated to the museum to complete the gem collection. The player can also sell gems for money.

Uses

Each gem can be donated to the museum once for three Town rank points. Gems can also be sold or gifted.

Gems are considered universally liked gifts with some exceptions: Archie loves all gems and Pablo is neutral towards them. Additionally, several townsfolk love or hate certain gems.

Geodes

Geodes can be obtained by breaking rocks on the player's farm or in the cavern with a pickaxe.

Despite being listed in the gems section of the player's journal, geodes are not considered gems for gifting and cannot be donated to the museum. Geodes need to be opened at Sanchez Brothers Blacksmith instead. Cracking a geode open costs 20 per piece. The item a geode contains is selected randomly at the moment it is opened and changes if the player reloads the day and opens that geode again.
